Living in the Hawaiian Islands we eat all of our meals and do all of our entertaining outside. The photos are beautiful and the menus great. It's nice having someone else plan the meal. I like the ingredient format too--easy to read and follow.

A friend served several receipes from this cookbook and I liked them so much that I bought the book for me and a book for another friend. Recipes are flavorful, not complicated and ingredients don't require an extra trip to some specialty store. Everything I've tried so far has been a great crowd pleaser. Great pictures throughout. I would recommend if you're looking for new recipes!

Let's pause briefly to remember the original CLANBOOK TZIMISCE. It had John Cobb's explicit, woodcut-like art, overly vivid fiction, pages designed to look like human skin. It was often sold shrink-wrapped and one place wouldn't let you see the back cover unless you were over 18. The book supposedly made someone's little sister vomit. It was quite an experience.With the new CLANBOOK TZIMISCE, wiser heads have, fortunately or unfortunately, prevailed. There are few grotesque descriptions and only one truly extreme drawing. (The art is mostly just Vampire: Dark Ages creepy otherwise.) No "over 18" shrink wrap here but I still would caution those younger and more sensitive people, as with anything Tzimisce. There's lots of information, especially about Tzimisce Methuselahs like Yorak and the Dracon. It suggest that the Tzimisce Antediluvian somehow now exists in all Tzimisce and can't be destroyed because he always re-emerges from the collective ooze that is this clan. There's lots about ghouls and revenants (new family, creature templates, derangements), the Children of the Dracon, non-European Tzimisce, Koldunic sorcery (new path), the Path of Metamorphosis with related mysticism and some funny stuff written in the voice of a modern Tzimisce advising an elder emerging from torpor.Still, like many new Clanbooks, this one assumes prior knowledge- here of characters like Yorak (and the Cathedral of Flesh from the TRANSYLVANIA CHRONICLES) and Dr. Totentanz (from the original CLANBOOK TZIMISCE.) Also, they've made Lambach Ruthven older and of lower generation than in other important sources.There are many standard features including a sample pack and discipline variations. Character templates include embraced revenants and followers of various Paths of Enlightenment. (Some path follower templates have typos- name of path not specified, wrong virtues.) There's a glossary to help with exotic terminology and a list of Eastern European names.

The clan book focuses more on the nature of the Beast (excuse the pun) then on giving the players more powers to pick from. This is a cultural and historical study of the clan, from the founder (new legends about him are in here) to being the "soul of the Sabbat." The reader sees quickly that this clan has rejected their humanity and has spent the centuries exploring what thier true nature is. It was a bit disturbing to read about a group so divorced from humanity. This book will help you with your role-playing, by giving you a guided tour into the differnces between humanity and the metamorphists. You will have the opportunity to play something which is alien from the way that you and I think.The one draw back is that the short list of disciplines is mostly a reprint from previous Tzimsce books.

This book's original made someone's sister cry . . . It made me laugh, yes it did. How delightful. The original format of this book has done it's job, and now the revised edition is out for quality storytelling.Fleshed out powers, more information, relate-able and given humanity to the ones who are composedly "alien" and horrific. We all have the potential to become monsters, but not all of you have the potential to be so transformed and great!Again, thinking about that poor girl throwing up and crying. Are you thinking about it now? This book obviously has an effect.

I was impressed at the sheer depth of Clanbook: Tzimsce Revised. First of all, its history is so in-depth that it arguably has as much use to players of Vampire: The Dark Ages as it does to modern Masquerade players. The Tzimisce have gone through a number of growing pains from their original inception in the 1st edition Players Guide to the Sabbat, and this book serves to deal with most of the loose ends we've seen (including issues from Dirty Secrets of the Black Hand and their "Old Clan Tzimisce" and "Souleater" problems). The templates in the back of the book give a depth to the Tzimisce that genuinely impressed me, showing a lot of work. The treatment of the Revenant families (including a new family) is fairly solid, and the Discipline variations are enough to make any Storyteller or power-gamer drool in delight.Honestly, I wish ALL of the Revised Clanbooks had been done with so much attention to detail. As with any truly great book for Vampire: The Masquerade, as many new questions are raised as old ones are answered, and the implications of information about the Tzimisce Methusalehs, and the clan founder itself, are enough to inspire a hundred plot threads. If you've been hungering for more information on the Fiends (both in and out of the Sabbat), and want something beyond the relatively sparse old Clanbook: Tzimisce, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the amount of work that went into this book.

I just can't get into the Fiends. Seem like too much evil for sake of being evil, for my tastes.

This was my first book about Data Warehousing. As a book in the Dummies series from Wiley it more than lived up to my expectations. You will get introduced to the nuts and bolts of the Data Warehouse-concept, and a strategy from decision to implementation and maintenance. The book will introduce you to several DW-vendors, but does not go into a specific vendors products. After this book I read Business Intelligence for Dummies, and I was afraid there would be a lot of overlap between the two, but I was happily surprised that wasn't the case. I can recommend both of them for anyone who is looking for a fast-track introduction to DW and BI. As other reviewers has pointed out, this book isn't the end of the line, but we already knew that. If you start from scratch you will have plenty of information to keep and reading other books, getting your feet wet. If you start from zero (or even beyond that) I can promise you'll find lot of interesting information in this book.

This is an excellent book for people who are new to data warehousing and just need an overview.

The book provides a useful introduction to Data warehousing. It is well written, easy to follow and a handy reference.

Look, this look isn't for experienced DW people. However, it wouldn't hurt some of the DW "experts" I know to read it.The author gived down to earth comments and examples of what the industry entails and what DW is all about. He covers most of the issues and gave me some interesting insight into some areas that I haven't yet delt with.I've been working in DW for over 5 years. Even so, I think this book is worth reading. I'm gald I did.

when I saw the title I was sure it is exactly what I needed, some special tips and tricks, something that you can't find easily on the internet. But it was nothing more.The good thing is now I have some good ideas in a book and don't have to search every time online.

I like this book, it has very good examples, well elaborated explanation. If you know PHP well then this is good book for you otherwise some of the example are hard to understand. Over all this is the must have book for PHP Programmer/

The code in this book definitely lives up to the "hacks" title, but that's okay because it's filled with lots of good ideas and useful snippets.

This is a very real world book, and gives some good examples with accurate working source code.The XML feed handling with Regular Expressions, I was able to put to good use within a matter of minutes.

I tried several of the hacks in this book and quickly scanned some others. It offers numerous ideas for dynamic web page presentation. Hack 11, "Put an Interactive Spreadsheet on Your Page", provides a fresh way to present tabular data in an Excel-like grid format, using a proprietary solution called ActiveWidgets. I downloaded the free version of the ActiveWidgets code and ran this hack. It is giving me ideas for how to present the kind of tabular data that might look good on a web page. At no cost, you can study a given bit of PHP code and decide for yourself if you can put it to further use.I also tried Hack 10, "Send HTML Email". It works fine as stated, and for the first time I learned how to construct a multipart email. That is what prompted me to implement the hack, I have always wanted to do exactly this. I have some work to do with my sendmail mail transfer agent (MTA) software for this to work even better. The hack can be improved by showing how to avoid the problem of the MTA writing the wrong from and to email addresses and how to work around potential mail relaying issues. The bottom line, however, is that the code presented works as indicated.I experimented with Hacks 4, "Build A Breadcrumb Trail", and 12, "Create Popup Hints". These work acceptably.An exciting hack that I haven't tried yet is #44, "Scrape Web Pages For Data". I would like to use this one to scrape weather-related data from [...] for my zip code.Another attention-getter are the hacks presented in Chapter 8, "Testing". I have not tried these hacks myself, but I think unit testing needs more attention in web pages that utilize heavy scripting, and I'll be sure to experiment with these hacks in two projects of my own that are currently ongoing. I definitely feel the need of automated testing.Other good points about this book is that it offers hacks which cover graphics tricks such as implementing Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG). SVG deserves attention because the image renditions possible are stunning, and you can render them right now. Recent builds of Mozilla and Firefox support SVG natively and you do not need the Adobe plugin with these browsers. Author Herrington neglects to state this in Hack 28. When you see the graphical renditions you realize they are worth implementing in your PHP code.I like the numerous screen shots the book provides. They offer a way to check my own results against what he suggests or shows are possible.I would have given this book a 5 star rating if I had seen hacks that implement PHP Data Objects (PDO) with databases such as MySQL and SQLite. PDOs have been available in PHP for a long time now, I use them in most of my coding because they work so well and offer a cleaner interface to the database engine than the "traditional" PHP code taught in a lot of books. Likewise, there is a focus on PEAR programming, but in PHP version 6, which is now in development, there is no longer a default install of PEAR. Herrington also didn't test his Hacks code on different platforms. He appears to have settled on the Windows versions of Firefox 1.x, Apache server, and PHP. There is some reliance on Internet Explorer. I can see the results when I test his hacks in Mozilla and Firefox on the Linux OS. Indeed, it doesn't look like Herrington did extensive research for the book; otherwise he would have quickly learned that SVG is supported natively in Firefox. There is too much code printed, and not enough discussion about the code itself. I can download the example code easily enough; why print it at the expense of discussing it? The book index also needs improvement. Love James Earl Jones, but the quality of the recording is subpar. The edits are often way louder than the other 90% of the recording. So you're sitting there enjoying calming JEJ reading...calm voice...calm voice...soothing voice...then BOOM LOUD JAMES EARL JONES FOR 3 WORDS...then back to calm voice...calm voice...and so on. That's my only complaint and it shouldn't stop you from ordering this. It's worth the money.

Jones has a resonant voice, but the continual background music, which influences as well as distracts the listener, annoyed me. I asked for a credit since I have never listened but to a few minutes of this unfortunate production. They do not do that.

Thought I was getting the whole Bible - print size of the title is misleading. But the quality of the product and the price are still excellent. If I had known I was only getting the New Testament - I would have bought it anyhow.

James Earl Jones has a wonderful speaking voice. I was disappointed to hear the music in the background--very distracting. I have purchased the Bible by Alexander Scourby--comes in a very nice case; his voice is wonderful--more inflection than Mr. Jones, which I like--and NO music. Costs a little more; however you get the O.T. as well as the New and a nice case. The other CDs were in a cardboard box without a lid.

Excellent set of DVDs. James Earl Jones has a steady, calming voice. I highly recommend this set.
