I bought this book for nursing school clinical. This book is conveniently small. You can carry it in your pocket on the floor. If you're taking tons of resources to clinical it's great to have something that won't break your back.The only con is its not as great at davis drug guide. While doing medication sheets I found that information was missing (like pt education, nursing considerations, and desired outcomes.) When that would happen I'd pull out my phone and search for the Davis info.But really this book is great if you're starting to pass meds and you need to know what med you're giving and why. So you can pull this tiny book out of your pocket (since phones are usually not allowed in pt care areas). Great quick reference.

This book is awesome. It fits right in my scrubs pocket with no problem, and gives all the info I need while on the floor. This is so much better than note cards.

People on here complaining that it is too small. Its supposed to be small because its a "pocket" guide to be used on the spot in a clinical setting!!! Someone said it was not for nursing school students but I am a Junior 2 nursing student and it has helped me tremendously whenever my clinical instructors quiz me on medications. This is a book for clinical or for quick and easy access. This is not meant to be used for thorough in depth assignments. Seriously.. its in the name...

The kindle version of this has paid for itself a dozen times over already in the last few months. I take this puppy on my kindle every single time my unit goes to the field. As a junior medic this offers exactly what I need for pinches when you have a question about a "less common" medication someone is taking or if I'm trying to broaden my horizon. With the Kindle Paper White having a 3-4 week battery life too, I basically have as much time as I need to get the information I want. Compared to the already small paper copy of this guide, the kindle version fits in a smaller place for those that may be limited on all what they can carry. I would highly recommend this Drug guide over some cheaper/less known names.

As a nursing student this was desperately needed for carrying around in my pocket (it's the PERFECT size for that) but it doesn't contain all the info I need to complete classroom required drug sheets (still have to use other sources)...Still glad I purchased it since it's so portable.

In need of a small drug book, I was pleased with the size of this book for my clinical days. As most of us have to use our apps that we have downloaded on our phones which you all know you are not welcome to have out while on the floor or carrying around that large drug book which can be a nuisance. Be aware the print is small but the book is small but legible.

Perfectly sized for a cargo or coat pocket. Contains basic info on just about any drug you'll encounter, including trade/generic names, routes, indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, etc. For the price I think it would be very hard to beat. I recommend this for anyone who needs access to drug info such as professionals or students.

I have drug guide apps on my phone that I prefer when at work (I'm a VN) but now that I'm back in school I can't pull out my phone on the floor.. this was perfect. It's small enough to fit in a scrub pocket and has a lot of drugs in it. There was 2 times I couldn't find the drug I needed in this little book though. All in all- I would recommend if having a drug guide on your phone isn't an option for you but at work I still prefer to use my phone.

Wow, what a book! This IS going to be a go-to-reference for the first private manned spaceship, SpaceShipOne. Instead of the title being “How To Make….” it could have been titled “How a Miracle Happened…” It is packed with so much detail and background story on how the private sector was able to step onto hallowed ground in 2004 that was previously owned by large tax payer funded government programs.For those that don’t know, SpaceShipOne is a spacecraft that completed the first manned private spaceflight in 2004. That same year, it won the US$10 million Ansari X Prize. SpaceShipOne now hangs in the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C.SpaceShipOne was designed by Burt Rutan. And it was Burt Rutan’s confident leadership, engineering prowess, creative genius, and simple wackiness that propelled Burt’s small renegade team to achieve one of the biggest world news stories of that year.I know…. I was part of that team.I joined Burt Rutan’s Scaled Composites in 1988. I was hired in to be Scaled’s first structural analyst using FEM (Finite Element Methods) which is an advanced way of computer simulating aerospace structures to determine stress and stiffness. By the time the SpaceShipOne program started, I was selected to be the structural lead.As deftly described in the book and the documentary “Black Sky”, tension was at a level I had never experienced before on any Scaled Composites program. There was a general consensus that Burt had lost his marbles when he suggested to his small team of maybe 12 engineers that we could go from building subsonic propeller and jet aircraft to building a spacecraft that would go 3+ times the speed of sound and, oh yeah, go to suborbital space. But first, we would have to build the mothership, White Knight (WK), which will carry and launch SpaceShipOne at about 45,000 ft.Another benefit to a small team is that we were highly motivated to perform to the best of our abilities. This struck home one day when I saw the wife to one of SpaceShipOne’s test pilots. I clearly understood that I did not want to face a day where I might have to tell her that her husband died because of a mistake I made. The SpaceShipOne team was close knit.Engineers are naturally skeptical since they clearly understand the risks. But Burt eventually won his team over by methodically describing how we would mitigate those risks by first building WK using the identical cabin design and most of the systems that SpaceShipOne would use. It was a BRILLIANT way to build confidence by continually testing identical hardware on the mothership, WK.Flight test were equally well thought out by Burt. First flight tests were simply “captive carry” by carrying SpaceShipOne to altitude only. This was followed by drop tests allowing SpaceShipOne to simply glide back to landing and to test the unique feather deployment design. Eventually, flight tests were concluded with rocket powered flights that won the US$10 million Ansari X Prize.The level of painstaking detailed research that Julian Guthrie put into writing this book is obvious to me as an “insider”. I cannot find any errors or anything I would have changed. And it filled in a lot of the missing background story that I did not know that ultimately led to our successful climax. Wonderful job Julian!!!

Think back to Alan Shepard, the first American in space, and imagine if someone had told you that a handful of civilians, without a dime of government funding, would loft two humans into space a scant 43 years later. Yet, spurred by a contest with a generous financial reward, a group headed by legendary aircraft designer Burt Rutan did just that. Especially notable is that the prize money didn't come close to covering their costs, and that's why their story is such a compelling one. The prize was the spark, but internal forces far more profound were driving these people, and it's the human story we get in this book. Read it, then go back and watch the footage of the two winning flights and the events leading up to them. You'll then have a deep and satisfying appreciation for this extraordinary achievement.

A great read, The story weaves together half a dozen character-driven threads. It's all about a cast of large characters: Peter Diamandis (the promoter), Burt Rutan (aeronautics prodigy), John Carmack (software genius), Erik Lindbergh (son of the great aviator), Michael Melvill and Brian Binnie (test pilots). The story brings to life the competition that led to the first reusable commercial suborbital spaceflights, My personal favorite is Burt Rutan. His creations have been amazingly innovative. One of my favorite scenes has MIke Melvill riding on top of the Rutan Raptor UAV prototype, flying it back to base like a some old-time cowboy. The book is packed with great stuff. The winning flights, of course, are the high points of the story. You've got to love the professionalism, determination, calm and expert piloting under pressure of both Melvill and Binnie. The Right Stuff indeed.

The book starts out quite strong. Peter Diamandis, the founder of the X-Prize, is an a dynamo of activity. He is simultaneously attending Harvard Medical School and graduate school at MIT, launching a university, organizing collegiate clubs that turn into national organizations. He's the driving force behind the first part of the book, the writing is strong, and it makes for very interesting reading.Unfortunately, Part II of the book, which is about the trials and tribulations behind the founding of the X-Prize is brutal. All the momentum the author built in the first part of the book comes to a grinding halt. We follow Peter around to meeting after meeting and learn about the death of his friend. Quite frankly, I skipped the last few chapters of this part and I don't feel like I missed anything. This third of the book could and should have been summarized in one chapter.Part III, how Burt Rutan wins the X-Prize, gets interesting again. But by this point the whole thing is a bit disjointed.It's really three books in one and the author would have done better to focus on the building of a spaceship -- as suggested by the title -- and less on the building of a foundation. Peter Diamandis is an interesting character to be sure. And I can understand why the author wrote so much about him. He kept detailed notes on his life and tape recorded his thoughts. It's a goldmine for an author, but in the end, it doesn't serve the book. Peter doesn't make spaceships; Burt Rutan does.The book I was hoping for would have led me through all the trials and tribulations in building a spaceship in much greater detail and the engineering challenges that were faced and overcome. The book touches on this then spends more time recounting the two winning X-Prize flights. Clearly, this is a talented author who needs some guidance in organizing her material.

I have calmed down this morning, but yesterday, when I finished reading “Murder Never Retires,” I was very upset to learn that this mystery is continued. I hate continued TV shows, and I was completely blindsided when I arrived at the end of this mystery only to discover that one of the plots is to be continued. I enjoyed the sleuthing process and the interaction among characters although placing Hillary Green on such a high pedestal was a bit over the top. I’m just not sure now, if I want to read a sequel because I may be faced with yet another continuation.

It may be time for Faith Martin to find a new line of work. I have read everything about Hillary Greene since Murder on the Oxford Canal, and have seen the series getting less interesting and more repetitive. Oh, names and locations change, but everything stays the same. The author still does way too much describing of stuff -- what people are wearing, room decor, everyone's eye color (!), etc -- that doesn't make a rat's patoot to the story. Her 50-year-old cougar heroine's panting after her younger boss-cum-lover gets really old, and if Crayle makes her "toes curl" one more time I'm going to puke. The incessant fawning over Greene's rate of solutions ( 100% ! ) and her consummate, all but incredible skill at interviewing suspects, wheedling confessions out of the most recalcitrant of them, not to mention her innate ability to mold societal misfits of every stripe into valuable, productive, crime-fighting team members...and Jeez! She's only an English Lit major! But what's really off-putting is her clairvoyance. She and her team can be totally up a stump -- no leads, no suspects, no tips -- no nothing. Greene can't find her ample arse with both hands and a compass. And then, just like a bolt from the blue, she suddenly divines chapter and verse about the crime! Who, what, when, where, why, and how miraculously become clear. All the loose ends come together in a neat bundle, and Super Copper wins again! Another "gripping murder mystery full of twists" is dispatched. There is a sameness about all these British police procedurals which suggests that somewhere in the bowels of Joffe Books there is this algorithm where you fill in a few blanks, and the damn thing writes another book. I've no more time to waste on Martin and Greene.

Anna McRae, mother of three, was beaten to death in her home. Since she was having an affair with her brother-in-law, Anna's sister, Debbie, was the prime suspect, but nothing was ever proven. As she begins to investigate the case, Hillary has to deal with a secret admirer who has quickly moved from potential suitor to stalker. (this guy literally made my skin crawl)..It was good to see Hillary return to police work (even as a contractor)... A lot of fuss is made over her past as a DI, she has been turned into some type of "legend" around HQ... I followed the clues as Hillary and her new team investigated this cold case, trying to figure out who murdered Anna McRae. I chose my suspect and eagerly read, turning the pages to find out if I was right (I was not)... I also wanted Hillary's stalker to get caught before it was too late... I did not guess the whodunnit or why, so the big reveal was a complete surprise!AfterThoughts: Not another "devastatingly handsome" boss (groan)! And, Hillary is already thinking about sleeping with him...How is Hillary suddenly a redhead? She has never been described as such in the past eleven books (I believe that it was descrambler s chestnut brown), now we are frequently reminded that she is a redhead or has auburn hair...

...but it's not.I've read and obviously enjoyed the entire series. So when I saw this book release I was all over it.But it wasn't the same. It's a new cast of characters that I don't think measures up to the old , and admittedly comfortable one(Hence the four stars.)Hillary is still Hillary. The super detective that always solves the case.

Once again, a well written fast paced story featuring one of my favourite characters and her supporting cast! I love these books, I find the characters really believable, the story nice and complex but not too convoluted and I just really enjoy them!Would recommend starting at the first book, you'll find yourself hooked too.

I have all of the Hillary Greene series, and was delighted with them, however, this book was predictable from the beginning, but nevertheless an enjoyable adventure into British crime.

This story truly begins the next chapter of Hillary's crime solving career. Enough time has passed for the easy introduction of several new characters. The story holds together well and sets the framework for more exciting books for avid fans like me

Bought all the Delmar books, and decided to take the A5 first. I have read the book several times as well as the questions with the given answers. The test had about 10 questions that were somewhat similar to what the book said, the rest was all, waaaay more involved, including interpreting scope readings and trouble shooting issues using electrical diagrams. I like to read, so while studying for this test I have read everything on the subject that I could get my hands on.Unfortunately nothing was close to the actual exam, especially ABS questions. My personal experience fixing various cars I own helped more than any reading.I am not a professional mechanic any more presently, and took this test more to see if I am "officially" any good at this, and shut up some bragging friends. I guess if you are a real mechanic you can probably accurately ques the right answers with some additional reading but not too much.Most of the questions were rather ambiguous with two answers being clearly wrong, but the other sound like they can be both true. Most of the questions were the type "which answer is correct" and only a few were Technician A versus B type.This is a rather old edition 2012 and it looks like a new edition is needed and probably due to make up for the updated test.Good Luck to EVERYBODY !

Excellent condition upon arrival and it came quick!!!! And I was in Alaska so I was really surprised. I immediately scheduled my next test within few days. Helped with a quick crash course to refresh my memory. Really has tons of useful information. It help out a lot. Passed my A5 brakes ASE test!! I'm an automotive tech student and wanted something else besides my school book on brakes to study with for the my ASE brake test. This book covered some of the basic stuff out there and the way it worded each question was right on with the ASE test. There was even some question that were right out of the study guide! Lots of practice question that really help you get ready.There is no way you could just study this book and pass. But for those of you that are in tech school and/or have some prior knowledge on the whole automotive brake system this book will help on troubleshooting questions that are not asked or talked about on some books.Oh, and I passed my ASE test on brakes. Yahoooo...

Great information and 6 tests and explanations to go along with and study. I would with something else that has more of the modern electronic brake system/wiring diagrams study questions. Something a bit more updated, but I still learned a lot from this book.

The ASE test has been updated with newer information than what the book offers. Still a good book for those of use that NEVER worked on drum brakes. The book was helpful because rear drum brakes ARE still on the test. In 17 years i haven't had to work on a car with drum brakes. Use this book and supplement your study with more info on traction control systems and wheel speed sensor patterns

I used this book as my primarily preparation to take an ASE test for the first time. I had already taken automotive classes at an Education Cultural Complex (part of San Diego City College District), then worked in the industry as an auto mechanic for two years. There were no exact matches to questions in the book that actually showed up on the ASE exams. By using these practice tests as a guide to see where I was weak worked out pretty well. When I had problems answering questions, I would resort to my text books or other sources to beef up my knowledge. I felt that this book worked for me using that approach to prepare for the exam. I also felt that my knowledge as a mechanic increased. I passed the exam easily. I don't believe that this book alone is the silver bullet to pass an ASE exam. It is a great tool to use in order to see where your knowledge stands. I even purchased practice exams from ASE and only one exact question showed up on the test. There are some quality control issues such as questions that don't have the correct illustration. There is one or two like that per book.

The practice questions are not needed, you will fail if you rely on practice questions

this book answers the question, "what is a Habakkuk 2:14 ministry like?" or better yet, "what is the kingdom of heaven like?" which is actually the question that the Beatitudes and every parable answers. this book is about ministry that makes the supernatural natural; ministry so saturated with love and humility that you can see a clear reflection of Jesus in it. prayerful tears pouring into the dust make the kind of mud that the Father uses to form hearts of flesh. doesn't He collect our tears in a bottle?if their oppressors threw rocks at them, the children of God would respond by throwing fruit of the Holy Spirit back at them--"love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Although you won't find it in the periodic chart, love is the most important element in the world. Jesus said that the two great commandments are to love God and to love our fellow man as ourselves. Being exposed to Heidi Baker challenges you to love at a totally new radical level. The fruit of her and Rolland's ministry speaks for itself. The way she fleshes out the Beatitudes in real life stories from Mozambique is no doubt inspired by her best friend, Holy Spirit. I should probably warn you not to read this book if you are content with your current lifestyle. Paul tells us he prays unceasingly that we would know the depths of God's love. This book is an answer to that life transforming request.

I'm grateful for Iris Ministries. I've recently come back from Ethiopia and I've been pouring myself into growing, equipping my family and learning as much as possible. Through King Jesus Ministry in Miami FL, I was led to do some research on Heidi Baker. Praise God for compelling Heidi to write this book. It has refreshed me, encouraged me and taught me how to operate. I knew unconditional love was the key but Heidi takes it up 10 levels by being devoting her life to the mission without fear (as does her husband). This book will break you down and build you up. I loved her references to Mother Teresa and I loved that she used the Beatitudes. Thank you Heidi & Rolland---God bless you, God bless you, God bless you!

4 AND 1/2 STARSThis collection by hardcore writer Wrath James White is exactly what you expect and it succeeds on every level in every way. It's over before you know it and you will find yourself gritting your teeth, frustrated that it has come to an end so quickly. The stories move at a fast pace and are very different from each other, so you will always be entertained. The writing is easy and smooth, but at times, overly graphic to a point where I found myself laughing out loud, and even texting friends certain passages from the book to try and shock them. That was a lot of fun!Wrath blends horror and eroticism with equal measure in this book, and people not used to extreme stories might want to stay away. However, if you are interested in this subject matter or have prior experience with Wrath in the past (or authors like Edward Lee or Bryan Smith) you will be in hardcore heaven. Highlights for me include, "Like Peyote For Pimps", "Nothing Better To Do", and "After The Cure". I did feel like Deadite Press could have added a few more stories to the collection, but for what is there, it still remains high on my list for a top 10 release in 2011. The cover, by artist Suzzan Blac, is one of the goriest I've seen in years.

Here lies a small collection of very short stories that indeed are pretty graphic. The author doesn't pull his punches when it comes to gore.Unfortunately, there is little beyond the gore in most of these stories. Character development is hit or miss: The hits are a great talent for giving you a real feel for the character(s) using very little (Like Peyote for Pimps, Feeding Time); the misses are where he seemed it wasn't worth bothering (Rottweiler, House Cleaning).This isn't really horror in any traditional sense. Little attention is paid to atmosphere. There's no forboding. It would be better to think of these stories as "gore fiction" rather than horror.Mr. White should also do a little research when a story touches on a subject he's apparantly not very familiar with, which may grate on some readers. For example, in my favorite of this collection, Feeding Time, there are several references to lion anatomy as being "hairy." In under 5 minutes on Google you can find out that a lion's penis is not hairy (OK, I admit, the story made me have to look it up). Also, nor are they huge. And to add insult to injury, although the human mind and body can suprise with their capacity to keep going, ***** SEMI-SPOILER ALERT ***** I strongly doubt our lion-obsessed woman would have been able to do what she did in her final moments, given the fact that she was half-eaten by then.This was certainly worth reading once, with interesting concepts and, of course, blood and guts galore; but all but one or two of these stories would have benefited from being longer. I mean that in the sense that they are genuinely underdeveloped, not that I was simply yearning for more. Then again, that's what reduces this to three stars for me. The stories are simply too brief, almost rushed, and there is great but unfulfilled potential for most of them to show more depth.
