Bought all the Delmar books, and decided to take the A5 first. I have read the book several times as well as the questions with the given answers. The test had about 10 questions that were somewhat similar to what the book said, the rest was all, waaaay more involved, including interpreting scope readings and trouble shooting issues using electrical diagrams. I like to read, so while studying for this test I have read everything on the subject that I could get my hands on.Unfortunately nothing was close to the actual exam, especially ABS questions. My personal experience fixing various cars I own helped more than any reading.I am not a professional mechanic any more presently, and took this test more to see if I am "officially" any good at this, and shut up some bragging friends. I guess if you are a real mechanic you can probably accurately ques the right answers with some additional reading but not too much.Most of the questions were rather ambiguous with two answers being clearly wrong, but the other sound like they can be both true. Most of the questions were the type "which answer is correct" and only a few were Technician A versus B type.This is a rather old edition 2012 and it looks like a new edition is needed and probably due to make up for the updated test.Good Luck to EVERYBODY !

Excellent condition upon arrival and it came quick!!!! And I was in Alaska so I was really surprised. I immediately scheduled my next test within few days. Helped with a quick crash course to refresh my memory. Really has tons of useful information. It help out a lot. Passed my A5 brakes ASE test!! I'm an automotive tech student and wanted something else besides my school book on brakes to study with for the my ASE brake test. This book covered some of the basic stuff out there and the way it worded each question was right on with the ASE test. There was even some question that were right out of the study guide! Lots of practice question that really help you get ready.There is no way you could just study this book and pass. But for those of you that are in tech school and/or have some prior knowledge on the whole automotive brake system this book will help on troubleshooting questions that are not asked or talked about on some books.Oh, and I passed my ASE test on brakes. Yahoooo...

Great information and 6 tests and explanations to go along with and study. I would with something else that has more of the modern electronic brake system/wiring diagrams study questions. Something a bit more updated, but I still learned a lot from this book.

The ASE test has been updated with newer information than what the book offers. Still a good book for those of use that NEVER worked on drum brakes. The book was helpful because rear drum brakes ARE still on the test. In 17 years i haven't had to work on a car with drum brakes. Use this book and supplement your study with more info on traction control systems and wheel speed sensor patterns

I used this book as my primarily preparation to take an ASE test for the first time. I had already taken automotive classes at an Education Cultural Complex (part of San Diego City College District), then worked in the industry as an auto mechanic for two years. There were no exact matches to questions in the book that actually showed up on the ASE exams. By using these practice tests as a guide to see where I was weak worked out pretty well. When I had problems answering questions, I would resort to my text books or other sources to beef up my knowledge. I felt that this book worked for me using that approach to prepare for the exam. I also felt that my knowledge as a mechanic increased. I passed the exam easily. I don't believe that this book alone is the silver bullet to pass an ASE exam. It is a great tool to use in order to see where your knowledge stands. I even purchased practice exams from ASE and only one exact question showed up on the test. There are some quality control issues such as questions that don't have the correct illustration. There is one or two like that per book.

this book answers the question, "what is a Habakkuk 2:14 ministry like?" or better yet, "what is the kingdom of heaven like?" which is actually the question that the Beatitudes and every parable answers. this book is about ministry that makes the supernatural natural; ministry so saturated with love and humility that you can see a clear reflection of Jesus in it. prayerful tears pouring into the dust make the kind of mud that the Father uses to form hearts of flesh. doesn't He collect our tears in a bottle?if their oppressors threw rocks at them, the children of God would respond by throwing fruit of the Holy Spirit back at them--"love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." (Gal 5:22,23 NIV)

Although you won't find it in the periodic chart, love is the most important element in the world. Jesus said that the two great commandments are to love God and to love our fellow man as ourselves. We as Christians talk a lot about the concept of love, but do we actually practice it? Is our love selective so we pour it all out on those we find loveable? Being exposed to Heidi Baker challenges you to love at a totally new radical level. The fruit of her and Rolland's ministry speaks for itself. The way she fleshes out the Beatitudes in real life stories from Mozambique is no doubt inspired by her best friend, Holy Spirit. I should probably warn you not to read this book if you are content with your current lifestyle. Paul tells us he prays unceasingly that we would know the depths of God's love. This book is an answer to that life transforming request.

I'm grateful for Iris Ministries. I've recently come back from Ethiopia and I've been pouring myself into growing, equipping my family and learning as much as possible. Through King Jesus Ministry in Miami FL, I was led to do some research on Heidi Baker. Praise God for compelling Heidi to write this book. It has refreshed me, encouraged me and taught me how to operate. I knew unconditional love was the key but Heidi takes it up 10 levels by being devoting her life to the mission without fear (as does her husband). This book will break you down and build you up. I loved her references to Mother Teresa and I loved that she used the Beatitudes. Thank you Heidi & Rolland---God bless you, God bless you, God bless you!

4 AND 1/2 STARSThis collection by hardcore writer Wrath James White is exactly what you expect and it succeeds on every level in every way. It's over before you know it and you will find yourself gritting your teeth, frustrated that it has come to an end so quickly. The stories move at a fast pace and are very different from each other, so you will always be entertained. The writing is easy and smooth, but at times, overly graphic to a point where I found myself laughing out loud, and even texting friends certain passages from the book to try and shock them. That was a lot of fun!Wrath blends horror and eroticism with equal measure in this book, and people not used to extreme stories might want to stay away. However, if you are interested in this subject matter or have prior experience with Wrath in the past (or authors like Edward Lee or Bryan Smith) you will be in hardcore heaven. Highlights for me include, "Like Peyote For Pimps", "Nothing Better To Do", and "After The Cure". I did feel like Deadite Press could have added a few more stories to the collection, but for what is there, it still remains high on my list for a top 10 release in 2011. The cover, by artist Suzzan Blac, is one of the goriest I've seen in years.

Here lies a small collection of very short stories that indeed are pretty graphic. The author doesn't pull his punches when it comes to gore.Unfortunately, there is little beyond the gore in most of these stories. Character development is hit or miss: The hits are a great talent for giving you a real feel for the character(s) using very little (Like Peyote for Pimps, Feeding Time); the misses are where he seemed it wasn't worth bothering (Rottweiler, House Cleaning).This isn't really horror in any traditional sense. Little attention is paid to atmosphere. There's no forboding. It would be better to think of these stories as "gore fiction" rather than horror.Mr. White should also do a little research when a story touches on a subject he's apparantly not very familiar with, which may grate on some readers. For example, in my favorite of this collection, Feeding Time, there are several references to lion anatomy as being "hairy." In under 5 minutes on Google you can find out that a lion's penis is not hairy (OK, I admit, the story made me have to look it up). Also, nor are they huge. And to add insult to injury, although the human mind and body can suprise with their capacity to keep going, ***** SEMI-SPOILER ALERT ***** I strongly doubt our lion-obsessed woman would have been able to do what she did in her final moments, given the fact that she was half-eaten by then.This was certainly worth reading once, with interesting concepts and, of course, blood and guts galore; but all but one or two of these stories would have benefited from being longer. I mean that in the sense that they are genuinely underdeveloped, not that I was simply yearning for more. Then again, that's what reduces this to three stars for me. The stories are simply too brief, almost rushed, and there is great but unfulfilled potential for most of them to show more depth. There isn't a single subplot in the whole collection, mainly because no story leaves room for one, rushing as quickly as possible to the conclusion.More attention to story would have gone a long way with this collection. If it was 200 pages total, it would probably be absolutely awesome.

This is not comfort reading or something to unwind with after a stressful day; this is an unflinching portrait of mankind at its lowest, which White bravely and accurately details with painstaking precision.In ten stories and two poems White presents enough murder, necrophilia, sexual extremism, and self-mutilation to reel the mind of the average reader (though it's a safe bet anyone opening this book's beautifully grotesque cover can't be considered "average") with his no-holds-barred, striaght-to-the-gut style. Happy endings are few and far between in the world White depicts, yet he often gives us an understanding of people and places we'd never dare visit on our own.PSYCHOS comes in at a mere 87 pages, though after ingesting the stories within it becomes apparent that the abbreviated page count is an act of mercy (one of the few offered here). The book can be a bitter pill to swallow, but as life often teach us, the most valuable lessons are the most painful.

Like Porno For Psychos lives up to its name with no problem. And that cover? Go ahead and judge the book by it because it's exactly what you're going to get. Erotic horror with some truly gruesome and disgusting stories told in a very descriptive voice.I enjoyed this collection as it was my first from Wrath James White. But my main annoyances were that each story was basically the same. It was either a sexual act that ends in extreme violence or a sexual act that happens because of extreme violence. Most of the stories read like pure exposition, but some of his shorter, flash pieces were standouts. I definently want to read some of his longer work in the future and I'd recommend this to hardcore horror fans, but it's not a favorite.

This was a chore to get through. I expect heavy suspense in my gothics - sweaty hands, maybe something slithery in the pit of my stomach but I got nothing but boredom here. The author spends inordinate time on description and the heroine's internal dialogue to the point where a single, short conversation between two people may take a dozen pages. To make matters worse, the heroine is a dim witted mouse whose head I have no desire to spend inside of. When the hero wonders what and why it is he is drawn to the heroine for, the reader is left wondering the same thing since we don't really know what she looks like or what she is about except that everyone treats her pretty poorly, she acts like a twit and spends an inordinate amount time thinking about her sad past which makes the reader feel like she only feels sorry for herself. She sneaks around the house, jumps at her own shadows and doesn't make a single effort to do something positive for herself like move forward with her life especially seeing how lucky she is to have gotten that job and was so quickly elevated to a position that allows her to do what she loves more than anything. Grow a spine girl! Disappointing read and not recommended.

This book was compulsively readable. I couldn't put it down. Silver is a master of the Gothic genre and more books should be written in this style. Her hero and heroine had great depth of characterization. The dialogue sped things along. Even the scene building and atmosphere were good. Her ability to suck you into the story is incredible. However, easily caught typos littered the pages, and the book was too predictable to rate more than 3 stars. The villain was easily identifiable, and the sex scenes were cliché, laughable things to be read to entertain tipsy girlfriends. I will give Silver's books another chance because her books are fun, and she obviously has a talent for writing. Recommended to lovers of Gothic fiction with a few reservations.

I quite like the storyline, the plot twists, the suspense, darkness of the characters. The characters themselves were well written and I must say this author writes to my liking, the way the story was coveyed. The writing style, choice of words. I was on edge! The lead up to Damien and Darcie's romance or whatever you want to call it was engaging. Sometimes a book or its characters can get quite repetitive and annoying but not the case with this one. And lastly i'm just glad the book was written fully. Lately i've been getting some half written, cliffhangar endings

I love Gothic romance novels so I was pretty excited to have stumbled upon this one.Darcie, our heroine, has fallen from grace, so to say. She had it all but also, lost it all. She found herself alone, homeless and starving. But she finds help in one of the most unexpected places and becomes a maid for doctor Damien Cole. He's mysterious and secretive and Darcie can't help but feel attracted to all of that; she tries to uncover the secrets.Now, this book was written pretty well, it actually gave me a Jack-the-Ripper feel, which may or may not have been the author's intent but this is how I felt reading the book. After all, there is a killer on the loose. A doctor, they say. Ring a bell? Oh and yes, our doctor is very much suspected by the police, but also by the heroine, which I found a little... I don't know, but odd. Sure, there were times I second-guessed him, if he was a Dr. Jekyll-Mr. Hyde type of character, from hero to villain, but the heroine took it a little bit too far.Anyway, it kept me curious, kept me interested to know more, and while it didn't give me all that many feels, I liked it and I recommend any Gothic romance lover to give it a try. Oh and the ending? I think that was the best part of the book. 3.5 - 4 stars. Somewhere in between. I'll look into the other books from this series.

I did like this story very much, but I give it 3 stars instead of 4 due to its graphic sex scenes which I did not think were necessary for the story line. I did not notice any editing mistakes and the story ran smoothly. The heroine, however, was a twit and continually did stupid things to put herself in danger. I found the author's take on the Jack the Ripper theme interesting. ****SPOILER*** She did take liberties on having JTR follow Darcie out of Whitechapel, which I doubt would have happened since the killings appeared to have been unplanned.The real Jack the Ripper went into Whitechapel looking for a prostitute to kill and when he found one, he would kill her if he found the opportunity. He would not have followed one out of Whitechapel and waited months to kill her.Anyway, back to the story. I do like that she wrapped up the story and I don't have to wait for a book 2. There was a HEA for almost everyone involved, which I also liked. I do recommend this book, only if you can deal with the sex scenes or if you are like me and can just skip over the sex scenes. If you can't deal with the sex scenes, then just skip this book.

In the beginning I was pulled right into the story. I love a good Gothic and this one started out with lots of suspense and tension between the characters. The anatomist part of the story made it rather creepy and I enjoyed the way the author wrote that angle. However, once the main character, Darcie and her love interest, Damien acted on the tension that was between them the book went downhill from there with too much lust and sex scenes that I felt were unnecessary and overly detailed. I felt like they really derailed the story. Also, I know the ending had to be arrived at some way to bring out the real killer but really, when she left the doctor's house in the middle of the horrible storm, I felt like I was in a bad "B rated" horror movie when the actors do something really stupid! Overall I enjoyed the book but several things about it had me giving it 3 stars rather than 4.

Tomie dePaola was born in Meriden, Connecticut, in 1934 to a family of Irish and Italian background. By the time he could hold a pencil, he knew what his life's work would be. His determination to create books for children led to a BFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, and an MFA from the California College of Arts & Crafts in Oakland, California.It drove him through the years of teaching, designing greeting cards and stage sets, and painting church murals until 1965, when he illustrated his first children's book, Sound, by Lisa Miller for Coward-McCann. Eventually, freed of other obligations, he plunged full time into both writing and illustrating children's books.He names Fra Angelico and Giotto, Georges Rouault, and Ben Shahn as major influences on his work, but he soon found his own unique style. This was one of my FAVORITE books as a child. My mother read it to me and I read it to my daughter. I purchased this book to read to a friend's children while they are here visiting. I grew up in Texas, and Texan's have a lot of state pride! It's not only about bluebonnets and the state of Texas, but the strength and courage of a little girl and her Native American culture as well as the overall caring nature for her community.

Found lovely handmade bluebonnet ornaments at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center for our Grands. and knew the exact books from Tomie dePaola to accompany them. Beautifully written and illustrated, these books connect children to a heritage more eloquent and mindful than flash-in-the-pan action figures and dolls.

This is one of my favorite books and as a kindergarten teacher in Texas we learn about Native Americans and the geography. I love the bluebonnets here. This book is a beautiful story about a Native American girl who sacrificed her favorite object for rain to help her nation (tribe). It's one of my favorites and my students love it as well.

If you are have this textbook for your business law class, then you are in luck! This is one of the best and most helpful textbooks that I have ever had the pleasure of using. (I mostly just use my textbooks as a pillow). I actually did enjoy reading this and learning the material. The author breaks down the concepts so they are easy to understand. Even if you hate law, if you put forth the effort to learn this, you should have no trouble at all learning and understanding the concepts. Whether or not the class will be easy is another thing.I enjoyed this book so much that I will not be selling it back to the bookstore (or anyone) because I know that I will use the book for years.

I had to buy this book for a class... I am not in the market to buy law books and read through them for fun. It was very expensive but it was required for the class. As law books go this one isn't bad. The authors actually try to put it in a language that students can understand and they even add in a little quip every once in a while. I am accounting major and this is the only law book I have had to buy but I imagine not very many of them are as easy to understand as this one. (I know none of my accounting books were) I don't know how many people will actually be looking to buy this for recreational reading but if you do I think it will probably be entertaining for you. If you are required to buy it like I was then don't be TO disappointed. I suppose it could be worse...

I somehow got the instructor's edition for this book, maybe I read the product description wrong. Great book if you want to learn something, I honestly felt this book helped me more rather than my teacher.

Paid almost $300 on this book, I have had it for a month and a half and both the front and back of the book cover are coming off. I haven't done any excessive opening and I don't put anything in my book that would cause it to rip the covers off. Very disappointed, should have just bought it somewhere else.

This is a really easy to understand Business Law text. I have very little experience with Business Law, and have had no issues understanding this text. It is a simple read, but has a lot of good, relevant information.

This book does a great job of providing all of the necessary information to cover each topic without becoming redundant. While it is not the most exciting read, it is easy to get through.

I'm a law geek. This book is a great first-law-class. I'm done with the class but I'm keeping the book because I loved the class so much.

I needed this book for a masters class. I decided on the paperback to save money. It was not clear that when you purchase the paperback you are only getting "selected chapters". I received the book and had to turn around and purchase another one because it did not include half the chapters I needed to read for class. The only way to know would be to click on the picture and zoom in to read the small print under the title.
