Carrie's second and third novels, All That She Can See and When The Curtain Falls were both Top Five Sunday Times bestsellers.Carrie played the role of Eponine in Les Misérables at the Queen's Theatre in London's West End for almost three years and received the 2014 WhatsOnStage Award for Best Takeover in a Role. This book is a magically beautiful love story of a woman and a man who know there is an inevitable time stamp on their relationship. I started this book thinking it would be a bit of fluff before I got into something more substantial, possibly lengthy, but mostly exciting. It was supposed to be my filler book after finishing another beloved series that was mildly emotionally draining. However, once I began reading On The Other Side, I really couldn't stop. I literally power read straight through my Saturday and fell in love with every aspect of this book. Fletcher creates such relatable characters and the situations she throws Evie and her beloved people into is heartrending. You learn so much about yourself while reading books like this. You learn what is most important in life and what dreams you might have abandoned it that shoe box for someone else to find. Evie is the women I strive to be. To make the most of every situation I may be in and to love unconditionally every day
I read this book as soon as it came out, it was a “right in the feels†afternoon spent on an emotional roller coaster. I laughed and I cried and then I laughed some more and ended the book crying and smiling like a lunatic!! I guess I have ninjas cutting onions near me or something, because as I’m writing this I may or may not have tears in my eyes.Not your typical love story, I don’t necessarily agree with some of the characters’ decisions but I completely understand why they made those decisions and we wouldn’t have the most beautiful happy ending if the decisions were different.I fell in love with their love, so strong and so selfless, and by this I mean all types of love we find we can find in this book.Just simply beautiful.On an end note I’d like say that Carrie Hope Fletcher is a great inspiration in my life. I found her on YouTube (Channel: ItsWayPastMyBedTime) and her videos helped me more than I can put into words. She has the same love for books as I do and I’m really proud of her for having already written two amazing books. Honestly everything I needed. This was a beautiful book by the amazing Carrie Hope Fletcher that combines romance with magic and refreshing bits of reality. Every page was unexpected yet so comforting it felt as though I was meant to read this book one day. I'm absolutely thrilled I was finally able to read it and I can't wait to see what Carrie graves us with next (the 2 sneak peek chapters in the back are certainly worth it). I definitely recommend anyone of any age read this book if you're looking for a heartwarming yet charming read. Loved it <3
Ok so. I love Carrie. She is wonderful. But it took me a while to get into this book. I read the first 50 pages and let it sit for 2 months before forcing myself to finish the rest of it. After the first couple of chapters, it was great! I read it in 2 days. Slow to start, get through it. It'll be worth it!
I was excited when I heard the concept of this book and within a few chapters I was completely hooked and I just could not put it down! One of my favorite books of all time!

I was extremely excited when I heard Carrie wrote a novel, especially after loving her first book (non-fiction) "All I Know Now." While I absolutely love the characters and the plot concept, the story itself seemed like one I've read before (though I understand this is all too common with young adult fiction nowadays), but still had its own quirkiness. It flowed well making a very quick read. The first maybe 70 pages or so seemed rather slow for the story, though it gets better and I'm glad I kept reading. It was definitely a fun book and though I didn't like one hundred percent everything about it, I'm excited to see what Carrie writes next. Based on the concept for this novel and her one after this, I really like Carrie's ideas and am excited to see how her storytelling will improve over time, as this is her first fictional story. Overall, I would recommend this book. It does have aspects that are so similar to other young adult fiction books out there right now, but it redeems itself with its loveable characters and motif.
